CommBank customers can access online statements through NetBank and the CommBank app, with past online statements available for up to seven years. Those PDFs are useful for records, but they are not built for spreadsheet work: copying the text into Excel can merge descriptions, signs and balances into the wrong columns.
This converter turns a Commonwealth Bank statement PDF into a structured Excel or CSV file. Because we do not have a verified CommBank transaction-account sample on file, we do not claim exact statement column labels here. Instead, we extract the visible date, description, debit or credit amount and balance fields from the PDF and ask the reviewer to confirm the exact layout before merge.
How Commonwealth Bank statements are laid out
CommBank's official support pages confirm that online statements can be checked and downloaded in NetBank and the CommBank app, and that customers can save, print or email those statements. The public help pages found for this build did not include a transaction-account PDF sample or exact table headings, so the safe layout assumption is a digital, multi-page AUD statement with a statement period plus an itemised transaction list. Where a transaction row shows a day and month but no year, the converter infers the year from the statement period.
How to download your statement from Commonwealth Bank
- 1
Open CommBank digital banking
Log in to NetBank in a browser or open the CommBank app. CommBank's support pages say online statements can be checked in both NetBank and the app.
- 2
Choose the account
Select the transaction, savings or credit card account whose statement you need. Business users in CommBiz may need View permission for the account.
- 3
Open online statements
Go to the statements area for that account. CommBank describes online statements as available to save, print and email, with up to seven years kept online for active accounts.
- 4
Pick the statement period
Choose the month or statement period you want to convert. For CommBiz account statements, CommBank says to choose the statement period and then open or download the available statement.
- 5
Download the PDF
Download or save the statement PDF, then upload that file here. Use the original digital PDF rather than a screenshot or photo when possible.
Commonwealth Bank conversion quirks we handle
No public sample confirmed: CommBank's help pages confirm online statement access and download paths, but they do not publish exact transaction-account table headings. The converter reads the visible fields instead of relying on one hard-coded heading set.
Australian date handling: CommBank statements are for Australian AUD accounts. If a transaction line shows the day and month without a year, the converter infers the year from the statement period.
Debit and credit signs: statement PDFs can separate money out and money in visually. The converter keeps those signs separate so refunds, deposits, card payments and withdrawals do not collapse into one unsigned amount column.
Multi-page statements: repeated page headers, account details and carried-forward context are ignored so they do not become extra spreadsheet rows.
Best source file: online statements downloaded from NetBank, the CommBank app or CommBiz should convert more cleanly than scanned paper statements, photos or screenshots.
Commonwealth Bank bank statement FAQ
Can I convert a CommBank statement from NetBank or the CommBank app?+
Yes. CommBank's own support pages say online statements can be checked in NetBank and the CommBank app. Download the original PDF statement, then upload it here to convert it to Excel or CSV.
Does this page confirm the exact CommBank transaction columns?+
Not yet. We found official CommBank help pages for accessing and downloading online statements, but not a public transaction-account PDF sample with exact table headings. The page is intentionally cautious until a reviewer checks a real sample.
How are dates handled if the transaction row has no year?+
For dates with no year on the transaction line, the converter infers the year from the statement period printed on the statement, including periods that cross a year boundary.
Will it work for CommBiz business statements?+
CommBank's CommBiz guide says account statements can be opened or downloaded by users with View permission. Business statement layouts still need reviewer confirmation, so use the original downloaded PDF and check the converted totals before relying on the file.
Is it safe to upload my Commonwealth Bank statement?+
Uploads use a secure encrypted connection, we never sell or share your data, and totals are checked against your statement during conversion.
