Lloyds statements are readable PDFs, but the transaction table is built for printing, not spreadsheet work. The layout separates money coming in from money going out, repeats account and page information, and can split longer descriptions across lines.
This converter is tuned for Lloyds current-account PDFs. It keeps Lloyds' paid-in and paid-out amounts correctly signed, carries the date and balance through multi-page statements, and removes repeated statement headers so the exported Excel or CSV is ready to reconcile.
How Lloyds statements are laid out
A Lloyds current-account statement normally opens with account details, statement period and balance summary, then lists transactions in a table with date, transaction description, money in, money out and balance columns. Dates use UK day-month-year ordering, descriptions may include card, Faster Payments, direct debit, standing order or transfer references, and multi-page statements repeat the account header and page footer. Digital PDFs from Lloyds online banking are text based and normally convert better than scans or photographed copies.
How to download your statement from Lloyds
- 1
Log in to Lloyds online banking
Sign in at lloydsbank.com with your Lloyds online banking credentials. Use a browser when possible because the desktop site gives the most reliable PDF download flow.
- 2
Choose the account
Open the current, savings or business account whose statement you need. Check the account name and sort code if you manage more than one Lloyds account.
- 3
Open statements
Go to the account's statements or documents area. Lloyds also lets you view statement information through its mobile banking app, but a browser PDF is usually easier to upload and convert.
- 4
Select the statement period
Pick the month or period you want to convert. For bookkeeping, download the official statement PDF rather than exporting a recent-activity list, because the statement includes the opening and closing balances you need for reconciliation.
- 5
Download the PDF
Save the statement PDF to your computer, then upload that file here. Do not print to PDF or screenshot it unless you no longer have access to the original Lloyds PDF.
Lloyds conversion quirks we handle
Separate money-in and money-out columns: Lloyds uses two amount columns rather than one signed amount column. We sign each row from the column it appears in so credits and debits do not get mixed up.
UK date formats: Lloyds statements use day-first dates, typically a day, short month name and year (for example 01 Dec 23). We preserve the day-first format instead of interpreting it as a US month-first date.
Long payment references: card payments, Faster Payments, direct debits and standing orders can wrap onto a second line. We keep those continuation lines with the original transaction description.
Repeated headers and footers: multi-page PDFs repeat Lloyds account details, statement period text and page numbers. These are skipped so they do not appear as fake transactions.
Balance reconciliation: Lloyds statements include a running balance column. The converter uses that column to check the exported totals against the statement period.
Original PDFs work best: Lloyds online statements are normally text-based PDFs. Scanned, photographed or printed copies can still be read with OCR, but they are less reliable than the original download.
Lloyds bank statement FAQ
Can I convert a Lloyds statement to Excel?+
Yes. Upload the Lloyds statement PDF and choose Excel to get a workbook with dates, descriptions, money in, money out and balance values separated into spreadsheet columns.
Can I convert a Lloyds PDF statement to CSV?+
Yes. The same Lloyds PDF can be exported as CSV, which is useful for accounting tools, bank-feed imports and spreadsheet checks.
Does it handle Lloyds' money-in and money-out columns?+
Yes. Lloyds prints credits and debits in separate columns, so the converter signs transactions from the column position instead of guessing from the description.
Will it work with Lloyds business statements?+
Lloyds business current-account PDFs use a similar UK statement structure and are read the same way. If your business statement has extra fee or service sections, those are ignored unless they contain transaction rows.
Are Lloyds statements password protected?+
Lloyds statements downloaded from online banking are normally regular PDFs. If you have a password-protected copy, remove the password before uploading it.
Is it safe to upload my Lloyds statement?+
Files are processed over an encrypted connection. We never sell or share your data.
